Valentine’s Day Project

The GPWS is sponsoring a special three-day Valentine’s Day Painting event for the benefit the Meals on Wheels recipients in our communities. We hope to help make Valentine’s Day extra- special for these special people!

A special new project is about to happen at the Great Plains Watercolor Society and we are asking all members for their help.

All GPWS artists and guests are invited to help paint valentines for Meals on Wheels. These Valentine greetings will be placed with meals delivered to elderly and shut-in folks who receive meals.

In Sioux Falls we will be painting postcard sized Valentine cards for 400 recipients on Tuesday, January 8th, and Tuesday, January 22th from 1:30-4:00PM at Mosaic Studio and Saturday, January 12th from 9:00-4:00 at First Presbyterian Church.

For those out of the city of Sioux Falls we would invite you to make handmade Valentine cards for your local Meals on Wheels as well.

Bring your watercolor paints, your favorite Valentine’s Day stamps and a healthy dose of creativity. Paper, stamp pads, and embellishment will be provided by GPWS.

So for a “feel good” fun project come join Mary Buckmiller, Outreach Chairperson, all three days or pick a day that works for you.   You know you’ll love it.
