GREAT PLAINS WATERCOLOR SOCIETY INVITES ALL MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR UPCOMING EXHIBITION

REQUIREMENTS:

NO ENTRY FEE

ARTIST ELIGIBILITYAll exhibitions are open to all GPWS members in good standing who have paid their dues through the opening date of the exhibition (August 2022). Each member may submit up to two pieces of artwork.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS-All paintings must be original, two-dimensional works in water-based media. All forms of water media include representational and abstract watercolor, gouache, hand-painted collage, mixed media, water-based inks, acrylics, egg tempera and casein. Collage is acceptable, but all pieces must be created by the artist. Cradles are accepted. Copies of other artists’ work will not be accepted, nor will work derived from photographs not taken by the artist. Paintings must be original, not done in a class or workshop. Varnished works are also accepted.

PRESENTATION/FRAMING REQUIREMENTS-All paintings must be suitably framed. Frames must be neutral, simple and sturdy with wire hangings fastened with D-rings. Canvas paintings need wire hangings as well. Watercolor paintings may have glass or archival plexi-glass. Maximum size is 432 square inches, e.g. 16×20 or 18×24. Minimum size is 108 square inches, e.g. 9×12 or 8×14.

SALE OF ARTWORK-Paintings can be priced to sell. All sales are between artist and seller. 30% commission will be taken from any sales at this exhibit. The following information is placed with each painting, for sale or not. You will provide this information with your submission and a card will be provided for your artwork.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PAINTINGS-e-mail a photo of your paintings and information to Marjorie Ness, nessm28@hotmail.com. Please include all of the above information.

Deliver between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon August 15th to:

Contact Judy DeBoer, 605-321-0451 OR Marjorie Ness, 712-261-0827 if you are unable to deliver your painting at that time.

Pick-up between 9:00-11:00 am, December 14, or arrange with Judy or Marjorie.

**THERE WILL BE A RETAINER TO SIGN AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY. IF SOMEONE ELSE IS DELIVERING YOUR ARTWORK, THE RETAINER CAN BE EMAILED TO YOU.

    If you are interested in submitting work for an upcoming exhibition, please check back in the future for new instructions. The next upcoming exhibition will be handled as it previously was.

    The majority of our exhibitions are free to enter and we encourage our members to price his or her work if interested in selling. All members who have membership dues paid in full are welcome to participate. All entries must be original to the artist, including paintings done from photographs, etc. Other submission requirements, such as media used, size and framing, may be requested as well, depending on the exhibition. If you have questions regarding an exhibit entry, please contact our Director of Programming.
