    If you are interested in submitting work for an upcoming exhibition, please check back in the future for new instructions. The next upcoming exhibition will be handled as it previously was.

    The majority of our exhibitions are free to enter and we encourage our members to price his or her work if interested in selling. All members who have membership dues paid in full are welcome to participate. All entries must be original to the artist, including paintings done from photographs, etc. Other submission requirements, such as media used, size and framing, may be requested as well, depending on the exhibition. If you have questions regarding an exhibit entry, please contact our Director of Programming.

    Spring 2021 Art Exhibition

    Member Invitational Prospectus
    250 years as a Nation

    Main or East Active Generations - 2026

    • Exhibition will be at both Main and East Active Generations from August 3rd – Nov 30th
    • Entry submissions are due on or by July 15, 2026.  Each artist may submit two (2) paintings.

    Instructions

    • Open to all GPWS members whose dues are paid in full.
    • Please send your information anytime between July 1 – 15th to Marjorie Ness (nessm28@hotmail.com).  Call 712-261-0827 if you have problems or questions.
    • Artist must include photo and title of work, price (NFS or $$$), your name, mailing address, phone number, and the location (Main or east Active Generations) you would like your art work to be displayed.
    • Also affix to the back of each painting the same info as above.
    • Absolutely no changes can be made to your entry listing/price after July 15, 2026. 
    • Drop off your work on August 3rd (10:00-2:00 pm) at Active Generations (Main or East).  After the exhibition is complete, entries must be picked up November 30th (10:00 – 12:00 pm)

    Acceptable Work

    •  Submit the painting with a patriotic theme.
    • Paintings must be predominantly water media which includes watercolor, water-soluble inks, acrylic, casein, gouache, collage  
    • NO size of painting restrictions.
    • All components must be original.  Copies of others art work is not acceptable.  If the painting is discovered NOT to be original the GPWS officers will immediately withdraw the painting.
    • Frames can be any color or style.
    • All works must be delivered ready to hang with D rings and wire.  No sawtooth hangers.
    • No digitally generated works or components within work.
    • No class work or paintings completed with instruction.

    Sale of Artwork

    • The sale of your artwork is between you the artist and the buyer.  

    Liability

    •  Utmost care will be taken in handling paintings, however, GPWS and Active Generations will not be responsible for any damage to any art submitted to the exhibition.  Insurance is the artist’s responsibility.
