Paint Ins will begin in September on the third Tuesday of each month. They will alternate daytime one month and evening the next month. An occasional Saturday will be scheduled in the daytime. A popup Paint In may happen anytime, even in a month there is one scheduled. Paint Ins generally last 1 hour or a little longer. The first Paint In is September 21 at 1:30 PM.
  • Daytime Paint Ins begin at 1:30 PM.
  • Evening Paint Ins begin at 7:00 PM.
  • Saturday Paint Ins begin at 9:00 AM.

With COVID surging, and the CDC recommending masks even for outside gatherings, we want to encourage masks, even though we have no formal mandate.

Acrylic Skins, A Versatile and Creative Layering Addition for Collage

Adding another dimension to your paintings is the theme of Judy Edenstrom’s Paint In demonstration. She will show us how to use leftover acrylic palette paint skins or create new skins to add to watercolor or acrylic collage work. She will give us the “skinny” on these multicolored, multidimensional “skins.” And, also, how they can be added to simple or more complex collage work. Because of drying time constraints, Judy will personally prepare “skins” ahead of time for those who attend the in-person Paint In to use in a small collage project. Bring your creativity and let it soar.

Supply List

Remember these are small art pieces so large amounts of anything are not necessary.

Your regular watercolor supplies. You are welcome to bring acrylic paints (not craft acrylic paints) as well.

2 or 3 pieces of 5X7 140# watercolor papers. Your favorite brand is fine.

A couple of old or throwaway brushes and acrylic matte medium gel to use as an adhesive (good quality glue stick fine but she prefers the medium for more holding strength)

Scissors, ruler, pencil, eraser

Bring some of your favorite collaging materials (sharing is fun), i.e., stencils and makeup sponges, stamps/pad, watercolor pencils, colored and opaques markers, paper for cutouts. Remember these are small collages. You know what you like.

The event is finished.
