GPWS Road Trip to Pierre
Monday & Tuesday, October 5–6
Great Plains Watercolor Society members in the Pierre area have invited us for an overnight road trip filled with painting, art, learning, and plenty of time to connect with fellow watercolor artists!
Monday
- Plein air painting on the Capitol grounds
- Lunch provided by our Pierre hosts at the Waterfront Gallery
- Viewing of artwork purchased by the Arts Council, including work by some of our own GPWS members
- More time for plein air painting in the afternoon
- Evening meal on your own—many of us may gather at the same restaurant
- Please make your own hotel reservation in Pierre for Monday night.
Tuesday
- Pastries and coffee at the Waterfront Gallery
- Art demonstration by a local artist
- Participatory paint-in featuring masa paper and watercolor
- Lunch provided by our Pierre hosts
- Activities will spill into the afternoon, but will wrap up with plenty of time to drive back.
Since this trip involves some extra planning and an overnight stay, we’d like a “soft” commitment from anyone who thinks they might attend.
