Karen Knutson An award winning artist of contemporary semi abstract art, Karen began her journey in watercolor in 1985 and has been painting almost every day since. She has taken many watercolor workshops from nationally known artists and contributes her growth as an artist to the influences of these artists. She is a signature member of Transparent Watercolor Society of America, San Diego Watercolor Society, Red River Watercolor Society, the Montana Watercolor Society, The Norther Plains Watercolor Society, the Minnesota Watercolor Society, NorthStar Water Media Society and the Missouri Watercolor Society. Adding WOW with Texture, Gold and Wire Drawing Texture, wire drawing, and good design are the main features of this workshop! Upon special request, Karen will be sharing the very popular “wire drawing”, which is the key to better paintings in your future! It is called “wire drawing” because the result looks like a wire sculpture. It is actually done with a permanent marker. Your watercolors are going to be exciting and memorable. Adding gold finishing touches is a show stopping addition! Students will learn how to add charcoal powder, which adds textural surprises. Subjects can be figures, flowers, still life settings, or animals. Students get to choose their subject. All in all, this workshop will improve your design skills and imagination. Karen Knutson is a very popular instructor who teaches workshops nationally. Get ready to take your paintings to the next level.
